Parlux Enters Into a Licensing Agreement With Jockey

Parlux Fragrances, Inc. announced today that it had entered into a licensing agreement with Jockey International, Inc. for the worldwide fragrance rights for the Jockey brand. Parlux said it will work closely with Jockey International, Inc. in the development of synergistic marketing and in-store activities, and to implement a major fragrance launch focused on today’s health and fitness-oriented lifestyle, in the fall of 2001.

Commenting on the agreement, Ilia Lekach, chairman and chief executive officer, Parlux, said “We are very pleased to be associated with a company that has been in existence for over 100 years and is recognized internationally for its quality products for men and women. The Jockey name has an over 80% consumer awareness worldwide. We plan to introduce a unique line of fine fragrance products which will complement the Jockey image for sale in department stores and specialty stores, as well as Jockey’s proprietary retail stores. We are tremendously excited regarding the potential of this new product line and look forward to working closely with Jockey’s management team. We intend to grow our company through agreements and relationships with companies and brands with global recognition, such as Jockey.”
