SC Johnson Releases Sustainability Report

Waste reduction, renewable energyand progress on product chemistry are just a few goals SC Johnson is hoping to complete by 2016, according to its latest annual sustainability report.

According to the company, the report shares the latest information on its ongoing work to achieve its 2016 environmental goals by using more clean energy, cutting greenhouse gas emissions and creating innovative products that use fewer resources.

“Over the past year, we’ve progressed many environmental efforts that are detailed in this report — from our ongoing work to continually select better ingredients, to innovative new programs related to reducing waste,” said Fisk Johnson, chairman and CEO of SC Johnson. “The goal of these and other advances is to make the world a better place for future generations. That’s the inspiration behind our holistic commitment to the environment, and it’s something we work to live up to every day.”

The SC Johnson commitment to sustainability is based on a focus to make a positive impact at every stage of a product’s lifecycle, it contends. Beginning with efforts to make responsible supply chain decisions, the company also works to increase its use of clean energy and package products that use less material.
