Each year, researchers at Silab develop five or six new products for the cosmetic industry. At In-Cosmetics, Silab (Stand No. C30) introduced two new products—Telosomyl and Vederine. The recommended use level for each material is 3%.

Telosomyl, a material rich in red algae galactans, limits the deterioration of telosomes and limits telomere shortening. In tests, it significantly reduced stress-induced telomeres shortening by 65%. Expression of essential proteins for telosomes, POT1 and TPP1, is reduced in senescent human fibroblasts. Telosomyl significantly limited the decrease in the POT1 expression by 100% and TPP1 expression by 89%.

Vederine, a restructuring active ingredient that is said to be rich in oligofructosans derived from chicory, enables mature skin to recover an optimum epidermal barrier without UV exposure. By acting in a manner similar to vitamin D, Vederine restores the endogenous capacity of aged skin cells to:

• Activate the signaling path regulated by VDR receptors;
• Stimulate the gene network dedicated to controlling the differentiation, cornification and desquamation processes; and
• Improve the capacity of recuperation.

Vederine can be formulated in all care products for vitamin-deficient and mature skin.
