West Lane Takes Majority Share in Salon Haircare Company Simply Organic Beauty

Founder Scott Mitchell remains CEO.

Private equity company West Lane Capital Partners LLC, in partnership with J.P. Morgan Asset Management's Private Equity Group, has acquired a majority interest in Simply Organic Beauty. Founder Scott Mitchell will remain a significant shareholder and continue to serve as CEO and on the board of directors.

Based in Palm Harbor, FL, Simply Organic (International Hair and Beauty Systems LLC) offers luxury, professional-only beauty products.

The company’s recently launched Holistic Hair Tribe is a P2C (professional to consumer) beauty referral platform. The network enables salons to sell product directly from Simply Organic's catalog and have the products delivered directly to their client's homes.

Simply Organic plans to continue to execute and expand on its current strategy, said company officials.

Other beauty brands in West Lane's portfolio include Blossom Beauty and the BodySpa Group.

“We are very excited to partner with Scott and the entire Simply Organic team to continue growing the company's platform into a larger, more comprehensive, and global ecosystem of brands, enthusiastic beauty professionals, and innovative technologies focusing on the ongoing success of independent beauty professionals and salons,” said Nick Sternberg, managing partner of West Lane, which is based in Los Angeles.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
