SC Johnson gives donations in support of COVID-19.
SC Johnson announced an initial donation of $200,000 to help support urgent public needs in the Racine area. This preliminary round of support in the company’s hometown will aid local first responders and the most vulnerable in the community. As the situation evolves, SC Johnson will look at further ways to provide support to the community and to those in need.
“We have an incredibly committed team of people at SC Johnson who are working hard to help meet the needs of our communities as we navigate through this crisis,” said Fisk Johnson, Chairman and CEO of SC Johnson. “Racine’s first responders, medical personnel, schoolchildren and so many others are at the forefront of our thoughts and we hope this commitment to our home community will help provide some relief.”
In addition to delivering 2,500 care packages to local first responders and their families, SC Johnson will target resources toward several community organizations in Racine to support Ascension Healthcare’s local medical response, aid the Racine Unified School District (RUSD) and the YMCA in providing student meal programs, help the Salvation Army Racine Food Bank, Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization (HALO), Racine County Food Bank and Kingdom Manna Food Pantry continue to replenish their food supplies, and coordinate the local purchase of 6,000 books to be distributed to schoolchildren throughout the community with the help of RUSD, the Racine Police Department and the YMCA George Bray Community Center.
This initial $200,000 donation to the Racine community is part of the company’s recent $5 million global commitment to help mitigate the impact and spread of COVID-19. This includes a $1 million donation to the CDC Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund and to other efforts around the world.
As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve, SC Johnson is furthering its efforts to fight the spread and impact of the virus by committing $5 million in products and cash to support urgent public needs and those on the front lines. The announcement builds on the $2 million the company has donated to date, including $1 million to the CDC Foundation’s Emergency Response Fund, and other donations to efforts around the world in China, Italy and the U.K. The company continues to assess ways to address the needs of people around the world.

Recognizing that first responders are working around the clock to provide essential services, SC Johnson is teaming with the CDC Foundation to deliver care packages for police, fire and medical personnel. The care packages, which will include cleaning and disinfectant products made by SC Johnson, will be delivered in an initial wave of 20,000 in conjunction with the CDC Foundation in areas across the U.S.

Additionally, SC Johnson is supporting critical health care needs across Europe, Asia and Latin America to help protect families against the spread of COVID-19 through cash and product donations, as well as educational programs.
SC Johnson is also providing resources to help mitigate the demand the outbreak is placing on community services in its hometown of Racine, Wisconsin. This donation will help support the local medical response to COVID-19, as well as provide meals, snacks and books to school children throughout the area. These efforts will be provided in partnership with the Racine Unified School District, the Racine Family YMCA and Ascension All Saints Hospital.
The outbreak is taking a particular toll on the most vulnerable in society, with an increased strain placed on homeless shelters and food pantries. To help The Salvation Army Racine Food Pantry, Homeless Assistance Leadership Organization (HALO), Racine County Food Bank and Kingdom Manna Food Pantry, SC Johnson is donating $25,000 to each of these organizations enabling them to serve those in need.
