I’ve been hearing rave reviews about Wen’s “all in one” cleaning conditioners ($29) for quite awhile now. And with finding no such luck in pinning down that one hair care product that can tame my semi-wavy hair (frizzy in the summer, static-y in the winter) consistently, Wen comes in pretty close to that magical find.
One of celebrity hairstylist Chaz Dean’s newer Wen rollouts, Fall Ginger Pumpkin—a limited edition release—lived up to the hype and then some. The non-lathering formula is enriched by natural astringents and a blend of botanical ingredients, according to the company. Conceived by Dean as a one-stop beauty solution and alternative to shampoos, the Cleansing Conditioners are said to effectively replace shampoos, conditioners, leave-in treatments and styling products in one product. Aloe vera leaf juice, chamomile extract and sunflower seed oil are just a few key ingredients in the formulation.
The texture of this product is creamier than expected and has the heavy feel of a conditioner. The pumpkin scent is subtle and lingers after the hair is dry. My medium-length hair used about 16 pumps of the product; an extra pump as a leave-in conditioner also sealed in the shine and healthy bounce my tresses had after using the SKU.
Can’t wait to see what’s next from Wen for 2012!
