“100% Natural, 100% Healthy, 100% Effective Deodorant” is how La Vanila touts its line of deodorants. Having tested a variety of really good mass market roll-on contenders from companies such as Tom’s of Maine (www.tomsofmaine.com) and Naturally Fresh, (www.naturallyfreshdeodorantcrystal.com), I was curious about a prestige version priced at almost $20.
Scented with La Vanila’s signature essential oil blends, The Healthy Deodorant ($18) is available in exotic variations such as Vanilla Passion Fruit, Vanilla Lavender and Vanilla Grapefruit. Happi tried the Vanilla Passion Fruit. La Vanila is big at stores like Sephora and is known for its vanilla-based fragrances. This deo is effective but it rolls on clear but can flake off white on clothing. But, it works well and smells good; and the ingredients are top notch.
The brand uses Beta Glucan Technology, said to blend the health-promoting powers of beta glucan (a skin saving polysaccharide) with powerful antioxidants, active botanicals and antibacterial agents to effectively fight odor while nourishing and protecting skin. The formulation also features goji berry, Japanese honeysuckle, corn-derived propanediol, aloe vera and tea tree oil.
Kourtney Kardashian is said to be a rising fan of this product:

And, on Wednesday, June 5, former famed Sports Illustrated “Swimsuit Issue” model and Las Vegas actress Molly Sims and Lavanila Laboratories want to make you sweat. Celebrity Trainer Brooke Marrone will join Sims in leading a one-hour boot camp workout session at Sephora Times Square to put Lavanila’s Healthy Deodorant to the test. To join in this all-star exercise hour and meet the celebrated model and actress, just pick up one of Lavanila’s Healthy Deodorant’s in-store on June 5th and get ready to work it. Lavanila is confident that after one hour of wearing The Healthy Deodorant, you’ll boot your harsh chemical deodorant to the curb!
