Airspray Appoints Inman Marketing Director
Airspray International, Inc.: Craig Inman has been appointed director of business development and marketing. He will be responsible for developing sales and marketing initiatives that support Airspray’s growth. Most recently, he was executive director, market development for Kennen Solutions.
Presperse, Inc.: Greg Torchiana was appointed president. He has 20 years of experience in the specialty chemicals business with Rohm and Haas.
Malcolm Irvine was appointed European business manager for Presperse Europe Ltd., based in the UK. He will be responsible for managing the business with the multinationals in Europe as well as managing and overseeing the activities of Presperse’s European distributors.
Essential Ingredients, Inc.: John Zamorski has recently joined as an account executive in the Northeast. He was previously with Stepan Company.
SOCMA: Gregory Minchak has joined the Synthetic Organic Chemical Manufacturers Association’s (SOCMA) communications and marketing team. He will coordinate the association’s day-to-day media communications and public relations efforts.
Surefil: Bill Hunt has been named chief executive officer. He was a former executive with General Electric, Dow Chemical and Alticor.
SDPG: Gail Tilsner, president of SpaDermaceutical Products Group, has named Navin Geria vice president, research and development. He was formerly vice president, research and development for LaDerma Consumer Products Laboratories.
Bell Flavors & Fragrances: Janice Hart has joined the company as senior account manager with 19 years of experience in the cosmetic industry. She was most recently with Engelhard Corp. and is an active member of the SCC as well as CEW.
Ted Heinz has been hired as an inside fragrance sales representative.
Solvay America, Inc.: Virginia Hubert was named vice president of health, safety and environmental affairs, Responsible Care, headquartered in Houston, TX. She succeeds Michael Nevill, who retired May 31, 2006. Most recently, Ms. Hubert served as vice president, health, safety and environment at Solvay Solexis, Thorofare, NJ.
Fitz Chem Corp.: Russel Rhoads has joined the inside sales department as a technical industry account representative. He has been a sales representative for the chemical industry for the past 16 years, working the past 14 years as field representative and manager.
Charles Ross & Son Co.: Ramiro Magboo has been appointed new application engineer to the corporate staff in Hauppauge, NY. He worked with Shell Petroleum before joining Ross.
Bio-Botanica, Inc.: Mark C. Sysler was appointed vice president of sales for Bio-Botanica and Natural Products Packaging.
Mastertaste, Inc.: Dr. Markus Eckert has joined Mastertaste’s flavors division in the role of vice president of technical, flavors, North America.
Juan Varela has joined as vice president of global key accounts for the company’s natural products and fragrance divisions.
Ton Mesters has been appointed vice president of business development of citrus products for the natural products division.
Estée Lauder Companies: Paul Fribourg was elected director of the board. He will also serve on the audit committee. He has held the position of chairman and chief executive officer of ContiGroup Companies since 1997.
Spectra Colors Corp.: Deborah D. Morgan has joined the company as an account manager within the Ohio Valley region. In her new position, her responsibilities will include promoting and generating sales in the cosmetic, food, drug, inks, HI&I and specialty colorants market segments.
Fragrance Resources, Inc.: Christoph X. Gerberding has been appointed president and chief executive officer. He succeeds Richard T. Carraher.
Mark Magliaro has been appointed president, fragrance division, reporting to Mr. Gerberding.
Booty Parlor: Jennifer Taylor has joined the company as vice president of sales; Doug Denton has been appointed vice president of operations.
Flowserve Corp.: Thomas E. Ferguson has been elected president of the Hydraulic Institute for 2006-2007. He will also serve as a member of the board of directors. Mr. Ferguson is a vice president of Flowserve Corp. and president of Flowserve Pumps.
Acme-Hardesty Co.: Cynthia A. Cox has been named president. She most recently founded and operated Indigm, a chemical trading and distribution business for the oil and gas industry.
Wulan Gerile was appointed global sourcing manager, focusing on sourcing, negotiating and purchasing products to support inventory and customer requirements. Ms. Gerile joined Acme-Hardesty in 2005 as supervisor, importation and customs control.
Animus Cosmetic & Pharma Inc.: Maria Dolores Arquimedes has been appointed full-time chemist for R&D and quality control. Based in Argentina, she was previously director of technology, Laboratorios Bioquímicos Rem, Peru. Ms. Arquimedes holds a BA degree in pharmacy and biochemistry from National University of Trujillo Peru.
John Paul Mitchell Systems: Luke Jacobellis has been appointed president. An employee for 17 years, Mr. Jacobellis previously served as general manager.
Jenny Overdevest has joined the company as new director of public relations. Prior to joining John Paul Mitchell Sysyems, Ms. Overdevest worked as the head of public relations for Sebastian International.
BioRahn AG: Darren Gilbert has been named technical sales manager for the new subsidiary called Rahn USA Corporation, headquartered in Aurora, IL. In addition to sales responsibilities, he will also coordinate the marketing and promotional efforts with Rahn’s headquarters in Zurich.
Honeywell: Two new marketing managers were appointed to market Honeywell Asensa personal care products, its new line of ingredients. Philip Orawski will be responsible for global sales and marketing. He was previously with Abitec as director of sales and marketing.
Malena Higuera will be responsible for leveraging Honeywell’s technology and material platforms to enhance their growth in personal care while working closely with the business groups.
Gillette: James M. Kilts, Gillette vice chairman, will step down as head of the Gillette business unit and will focus on its integration until his retirement on Oct. 1. Mr. Kilts will be replaced as the head of the Gillette unit by Mark M. Leckie, current president of global Duracell and Braun. He will take the title of group president, Gillette global business unit. Joseph F. Dooley, who serves as president of North American commercial operations, will replace Mr. Leckie as president of Duracell.
Bocchi Labs, Inc.: Gino P. Ferrara has been promoted to senior vice president of sales for Bocchi Holdings Corp. In his new position, he will be responsible for the sales efforts of both Bocchi and Medicia on a nationwide basis. Previously, he was fragrance director with Charles of the Ritz Fragrances and vice president of sales and marketing for Wheaton Glass and Plastic.
CTFA: Irene Malbin, Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association vice president, public affairs retired after 17 years of service. She joined CTFA in June 1989 from the National Soft Drink Association.
Pilot Chemical Co.: Shoaib Arif was hired as manager, technical service and applications chemistry. He most recently worked at Noveon as senior research associate.
Hill Top Research.: Ward Billhimer was hired as business development-technical director. He was previously principal and senior scientist in the beauty care division at P&G.
Firmenich: The company is consolidating its fine fragrance and home and body care divisions in North America. Jerry Vittoria, current vice president and general manager of body and home care, NA, will become president of fragrances, NA. As a result, Daniel Rachmanis has resigned as president of fragrances, NA.
