Symrise Appoints Vielhaber Head of Cosmetic Ingredients
Symrise: named
Dr. Gabriele Vielhaber as head of cosmetic ingredients and innovation in its Life Essentials business unit. Prior to this, she was in charge of research as head of global innovation at the Scent & Care division at Symrise.
The company also tapped Ev Süß as its new regional business manager, life essentials. She will work closely with the global business units to optimize the market approach for the Symrise range of cosmetic ingredients in specific markets of the Europe, Africa, Middle East (EAME) region. Most recently, she served as portfolio manager, managing concept and product development of the natural cosmetics sector at Win Cosmetic.
Coty: tapped supermodel and television personality Heidi Klum as the new artistic advisor for global beauty brand Astor. In this capacity, she will be involved in the design of product collections inspired by the latest runway trends, and appear in upcoming print and television campaigns.
Hugo Naturals: appointed Michael J. Internicola to the position of senior vice president (SVP) of sales and Tony Quartararo to the role of SVP of operations. Internicola and Quartararo report directly to Steven Dickstein, chief executive officer.
Internicola brings more than 30 years of experience in the personal care and consumer package goods industries to Hugo Naturals. Most recently, he served as the executive vice president of sales and marketing for Hain Celestial Personal Care Group and as senior vice president of sales at Avalon Natural Products.
Quartararo, another industry veteran, comes to Hugo Naturals with 40 years of experience in the personal care industry, including 14 years at L’Oréal. More recently, he led the Burt’s Bees supply chain as executive vice president.
Pravana Naturceuticals: continues its expansion by adding Irene Seferian as a new marketing manager. She will report to Bethany Kirschner, who has been promoted to director of marketing. Caisa Airmet was hired as marketing assistant.
Revlon: tapped Julia Goldin as senior vice president and global chief marketing officer. She will oversee all marketing activities for its portfolio of brands, which include Revlon color cosmetics, Almay color cosmetics, Revlon ColorSilk hair color, Revlon beauty tools and Mitchum antiperspirant/deodorants.
Goldin brings more than 20 years of experience within the consumer packaged goods business, beginning her marketing career at Quaker Oats. She then spent 13 years with the Coca-Cola Company where she held senior executive marketing positions in the U.S., Europe and Asia, most recently as senior vice president and deputy chief marketing officer of Coca-Cola Japan.
Astral Health & Beauty: added three new executive leaders. Joining the organization as vice president of operations is Chuck McKnight; as director of product development and principal scientist, Noureddine Mriouah; and as national sales manager for CosMedix, Shawn Morgan.
Most recently, McKnight was the chief operating officer at Stila Cosmetics where he either led or contributed to expense, cost of sales and process improvement initiatives. Prior to that, he was the vice president of operations at Smashbox Cosmetics where he led, contributed and implemented/improved operational and infrastructure processes and initiatives.
Mriouah joins Astral Health & Beauty with 19 years of experience in the cosmetics industry. His background includes formulation and development with key manufacturers and formulators including ABCO Laboratories, CSM International, Du-Var Laboratory and Les Parfums Christian Dior.
Morgan comes to Astral Health & Beauty with more than 15 years of industry experience throughout the U.S., Canada, and Mexico with brands such as Dermalogica, Murad and Elizabeth Arden.
Alpha Aromatics: named Cheryl Hendershot as national account executive. She will serve as Alpha’s primary field contact offering direct sales and service support to fragrance clients and prospects.
Vivimed Labs USA Inc.: named Darren Gilbert as manager, sales and marketing for the U.S. and Canada. He brings more than 25 years of experience in product development, sales, marketing and product management.
Metal Dynamics, Inc.: a custom metal and plastic component manufacturer serving the luxury brands market, welcomed Richard Huff. He will be based in the New York showroom.
Arch Personal Care Products: promoted Lisa Bouldin to general manager. She has been with Arch since 2003, when she joined as technical marketing manager. Since then, Bouldin has held positions of increasing responsibility within the business, most recently as global director of sales and marketing. Prior to joining Arch, she had 10 years of cosmetic and chemical industry experience at Sensient Technologies, Union Carbide and Bausch and Lomb.
Andy Banham, who led the successful, global expansion of Arch Personal Care Products over the past decade, retired.
CND: welcomed back Danielle Devine as education director, where she will work closely with education ambassadors.
She joined the company in 1995 as nail enhancements marketing manager, andwas promoted in 2004 to marketing director. After the birth of her daughter in 2005, Devine took time off and rejoined CND as a consultant in 2007.
Radius: appointed Lisa McConnell as director of marketing and public relations. The newly-created position is part of an aggressive plan to significantly expand the oral care company.
Woodley & Bunny: welcomed Tom Seeberger as executive vice president/sales and education. In his new role, he will help to help foster the U.S. emergence of international brands.
Seeberger has 23 years of experience in the beauty industry, where he built an exceptional reputation building brands such as Aveda and Bumble & Bumble, according to the company. His most recent work was founding Anzuri, a beauty education company.
Laura Geller Makeup: expanded its senior management team with the announcement of Alyce Cucurullo as vice president and general manager and Lori Mariano as vice president of marketing.
In her new role, Cucurullo will bring her extensive experience in company operations to the brand, spearheading various aspects of the business from organizational management and growth opportunities to information technology and analysis.Prior to her role at Laura Geller Makeup, she founded Practical Profit Optimizers Inc.
Mariano will be responsible for leading all marketing and communications.A beauty industry veteran, she has held senior management positions at L’Oréal, Coty and Mane USA.
