Ringier Trade Media Ltd. and Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions announced the winners of the Annual China Personal Care and Cosmetics Innovation Awards at a special ceremony held during the Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients 2011 show (PCHi 2011) inShenzhen.
The awards—which are given to companies that are considered to be the industry’s foremost innovators—are co-organized by Ringier, its magazine Happi China, and Reed Sinopharm and its trade show, PCHi 2011. This year’s the awards covered six categories, including anti-aging ingredients, skin conditioner, skin lighteners/whitening ingredients, delivery systems, sunscreens and other functional ingredients/technologies.
Seventeen winning products were selected by a panel of the industries foremost authorities from the China Association of Fragrance Flavor and Cosmetic Industries (CAFFCI), various universities and research institutes and were honored for their contribution to the advancement of China’s personal care and cosmetics industry.
All winners received a free showcase opportunity at the most traffic-attractive space at PCHi 2011 where trade show visitors were able to learn the details of the winning technologies and products.
The winning companies include global and China market leaders such as Evonik, ARCH Chemicals, Shanghai OLI, Sethic, Cosmetochem, Bayer MaterialScience, Dow Personal Care, Dow Corning and Wacker Chemical.
More than 120 high-level delegates from winning companies and professionals from authoritative associations attended the awards ceremony together with PCHi VIP buyers, Ringier magazine readers and international media.
Winners shared their latest innovation technologies, which are said to drive profound development in China’s personal care and cosmetics industry.
This year, more than 60 companies entered the competition. A very positive trend in this year’s entries and winners was the move to eco-friendly products and those with proven efficacy, according to the organizers.
Receiving an award for functional ingredients and technologies, Lionel Genix, global marketing director of Dow, said “We are much honored to receive the award and thank all the judges for their fair selection and recognition of our new product. We are so happy that the China Personal Care & Cosmetics Innovation Awards provide us with the perfect platform to share our innovative product with the whole industry.”
Winners of the award are selected following a strict process in principle of neutrality, authority and fairness, according to the organizers.
“The Awards program provides an annual communication platform that aims to recognize innovation in China and hopes to motivate innovation by awarding those who invest in developing new technologies,” said Ringier’s president Mike Hay.
Following the successful launch of the awards this year, Ringier Trade Media Ltd. and Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions said they will continue their cooperation on the Innovation Awards in the personal care and homecare industry in 2012.
PCHi 2012 will be held in Shanghai's World Expo Theme Pavilion Feb. 27-29, 2012.
