Procter & Gamble Co. spent $996,497 to lobby the federal government in the third quarter on tax code, international trade, foreign relations, consumer safety and other business matters during the third quarter, according to a regulatory filing.
That's down 3% from the $1.03 million it spent in the same period last year, but it's 30% more than the $765,000 Procter & Gamble spent in this year's second quarter, according to disclosure reports the company has filed with Congress.
Procter & Gamble lobbied on issues from patent reform to trade barriers as it tries to expand its footprint in international markets.
In addition to Congress, the company lobbied the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the Patent and Trademark Office, the Environmental Protection Agencies and several other agencies in July through September, according to the report it filed Oct. 20 with the House clerk's office.
