Kimberly-Clark Corporation reported second quarter 2014 results and narrowed its guidance for full-year 2014 adjusted earnings per share. Net sales increased 1% to $5.3 billion; while in the personal care segment, sales increased 2% to $2.4 billion.
Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Thomas J. Falk said, "We delivered mid-single digit growth in organic sales and adjusted earnings per share in the second quarter. We also made further progress with targeted growth initiatives, launched product innovations and supported our brands with increased advertising spending.”
For the first six months of 2014, sales of $10.6 billion were even with the year-ago period. Year-to-date operating profit was $1.6 billion.
