Symrise AG has opened its €15 million cosmetic ingredients production plant, significantly increasing its capacities and improving its position in the market. The investment increases the production capacities in Germany and lays the foundation for further projects in Germany and the U.S
The Cosmetic Ingredients division uses the facilities to produce various cosmetic ingredients. Its production flexibility has thus been considerably increased, and the new plant allows additional production processes to be run within its facilities, according to the company. The investment strengthens the backward integration of key raw materials and thus the availability of these raw materials.
By recirculating production steam, the plant uses significantly less energy. In addition, output and product quality have been improved thanks to cutting-edge and efficient production processes, according to the firm.
“Opening a production plant for cosmetic ingredients strengthens our leading role in the development and production of innovative ingredients for producers of cosmetics and care products,” explained Dr. Gabriele Vielhaber, SVP and global head actives, botanicals and product protection Cosmetic Ingredients Division at Symrise. “We have established and built our expertise in cosmetic ingredients over many decades. With our sound knowledge of formulations, consumers and the market as well as our application expertise, we are supporting our customers in developing personal care products. Also, our innovative strength has helped us set standards in cosmetic ingredients. We will continue to develop that expertise.”
