Promoting infection and illness prevention through simple task that involves a staple of the personal sector, Dec. 6-12 is National Handwashing Awareness Week here in the US.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, proper handwashing is the single most effective way to prevent the spread of germs that cause infection and illness.
But according to I&I firm Deb Group, 83% of working adults continue to work while sick, and only 34% of males and 56% of females wash their hands on average. (You can read more about the I&I sector in the December issue of Happi.)

Start-up SoaPen recently netted top honors in UNICEF’s Wearables for Good challenge for it personal hygiene tool in the form of a soap-crayon that encourages the habit of handwashing among kids. You can read more about it here.
