The California Chapter of the SCC will hold its next montly meeting on April 26 at the Manhattan Beach Marriott in Manhattan Beach, CA. The guest speakers are Mark Miller, who will present "Symmetry! Consumer Trends in Personal Care & Nutrition and What they Mean for your Next Formulation," and Susan Sperring of Momentive, who will speak to "Exploring Silicone Benefits to Hair Anti-aging Claims."
The chapter’s events for May currently include:
• Introduction to Skin Biochemistry for Cosmetic Science, May 20-23: This UCLA Extension course is designed to provide a current overview of the skin and its basic biochemistry, including inflammation markers and pathways, aging processes, wound healing, proteins, peptides, non-invasive measurements and testing methodologies, and the effect certain ingredients have on the skin. The course is suited for Cosmetic chemists, product developers, dermatologists, nurses and others in the cosmetic arena.
• May Monthly, May 24: Held at Duke's in Malibu, speakers for this meeting will include Christina Fidducia of Fragrance West, who will present "The Language of Scent.”
