Long-time industry executive Frank Freiler has formed Canyon Consulting, which focuses on strategic marketing and M&A in the consumer chemicals segment of the chemical industry.
Freiler brings nearly 40 years of experience to the venture with many years in senior leadership roles in marketing and general management. His career includes more than 10 years at Amerchol Corp, (a division of Union Carbide now Dow Chemical) where he was the vice president of marketing and technology and in a separate role at BASF where he was the vice president/general manager of the Beauty Creations business. In this role at BASF, Freiler worked for two years out of the Paris area office of BASF France in addition to the six years he managed the business from the US headquarters in Florham Park, NJ.
Freiler’s greatest success has come from establishing new businesses within the structure of large multinational corporations. He has been directly involved in the successful acquisition of four businesses. His role was to understand the market position and competencies of the to-be-acquired company and insure that they were aligned with the objectives of the company making the acquisition.
As founder of Canyon Consulting, Freiler will provide advice to early to mid-stage companies that are focused on chemicals for personal and home care applications. Strategically he will support their effort to define a competitive advantage in an ever-commoditizing environment to insure that his client has a clear right to win in the market.
