Fragrance West reported four senior staff moves to support the company’s continual ascension within the fragrance industry. Gary O’Dell was hired as director of operations and facility management, and Sheri Zarchy as manager of analytical sciences. Two Fragrance West personnel have also been promoted: John Sanchez as senior manager of operations and facility management, and Diane Horne as sales leader.
“We have assembled a team of passionate and progressive creative professionals with specialized expertise to propel Fragrance West into its next major growth phase,” said Christina Fiduccia, president, Fragrance West. “These staff moves enable us to scale our operations, R&D and sales functions accordingly, while continually offering the type of technical expertise, creativity and service support for which we’re known.”
O’Dell brings more than 30 years of experience in facility and maintenance management within the cosmetic contract manufacturing and food technology industries. He will play a critical role in advancing the company’s manufacturing processes, documentation and facility maintenance to meet the high Current Good Manufacturing Practice standards that global brands demand. As director of operations and facility management, he will ensure that Fragrance West’s state-of-the-art facilities, laboratories and operations are “audit-ready,” complying with Food and Drug Administration, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, as well as fire, life and safety regulatory requirements.
Zarchy is a veteran research chemist with 25 years of experience in product analysis, reverse engineering, re-creation and quality control. Her extensive background in gas chromatography mass spectrometry (GC-MS) data interpretation and translating fragrance analyses into formulas will expand Fragrance West’s laboratory capabilities and advance its response to customers’ formulation needs.
Prior to his promotion, Sanchez was an operations manager who played a key role in integrating and expanding product lines tenfold from parent company Horn’s purchase of Belmay West in 2008, which became Fragrance West. In his new role as senior manager, operations and facility management, he will support the company’s continued efforts to strengthen its industry position in addition to his responsibilities of overseeing all areas of facilities management.
Horne was elevated to sales leader from her role as business development manager for Horn Care Elements, where she held dual roles of representing Horn and Fragrance West within the industry. As sales leader, Horne will manage distribution sales across all market applications and direct business development activities for Fragrance West.
“It is a unique opportunity to be part of the team that builds the infrastructure for a company to ultimately realize its potential as an industry game-changer,” said O’Dell. “Fragrance West has a bright future. Joining the team during this growth period is a challenging adventure that I’m thrilled to be part of.”
