Neutrogena is touting a new light-based, reusable skin care mask. The Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask, priced at just under $40, uses blue light to target acne causing bacteria and red light to reduce acne inflammation.
Reviews of Neutrogena's device have been popping up on social media. And while this technology is new to Neutrogena and some of the general public, it does very much resemble illuMask, which was initially brought to market by a company called La Lumiere LLC back in 2014. That same year, La Lumiere secured a $20 million series B financing round, with one of the investors being Johnson & Johnson Development Corporation, the venture capital subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, parent of Neutrogena.
