Gender equality, a love of new products and the plain old desire to look good are driving demand for cosmetics in Saudi Arabia, according to a report by TechSci Research. Specifically, cosmetics sales are expected to grow at a CAGR of over 11% through 2022, on account of growing demand for halal cosmetics, a booming retail industry and easy availability of cosmetics through online channels.
TechSci found that the western region accounted for the largest share in Saudi Arabia women cosmetics market in 2016 due to growing youth population base, increasing tourist footfall and expanding retail landscape. The region also accounts for the highest population base in the country, and is also expected to continue its dominance through 2022. Some of the major companies operating in Saudi Arabia women cosmetics market include Unilever, Procter & Gamble, L'Oréal Groupe, LVMH Moet Hennessy, and Beiersdorf AG.
