Shin-Etsu Silicones of America recently debuted multifunctional TSPL-30-ID siliconized pullulan film-former in isododecane. The patented TSPL-30-ID silicone film-former is resistant to water and oil, enabling formulators to achieve anti-transfer benefits for long wear lip applications that are comfortable and non-tacky, yet do not compromise adhesion properties, said the company.
The siliconization of the pullulan polymer renders the film-former highly permeable to moisture and oxygen, which is believed to enhance skin health and comfort. It provides a strong but flexible film, with low tackiness, according to Shin-Etsu.
Extremely useful for the growing lipstick segment, the product’s multi-faceted properties provide essential stability, functionality and sensory benefits across various personal care applications including cosmetics, skin lotions and creams, sun care products and anti-aging products, according to Shin-Etsu.
“The wide range of property benefits that TSPL-30-ID delivers allow formulators to streamline efficiencies and spearhead innovations," said Shin-Etsu’s CAL Team Leader Janine Cherette. "This allows us to advance our ability to be at the forefront of demand for trending ‘multi-task’ cosmetic silicone solutions—offering formulators cutting-edge sensorial benefits for a wide variety of product applications, for both mass and prestige consumers in today’s personal care market.”
