Antonym is a beauty brand with a conscience: the makeup collection was founded on the principal that luxe formulas can be made using clean, organic ingredients and no animal testing, it contends. While this has been the brand’s policy from the start, they decided to make their cruelty-free commitment official: This week, the Coalition for Consumer Information on Cosmetics (CCIC) certified Antonym Cosmetics as a Leaping Bunny brand.
What does the Leaping Bunny designation mean? The CCIC (an alliance of eight animal protection groups) has validated that Antonym, and all of its ingredient suppliers, conduct no animal testing at any stage in product development. The Leaping Bunny Seal is an internationally-recognized symbol in the US, Canada, the U.K. and most of the European Union, assuring consumers that the products they are purchasing are completely cruelty-free.
It's a big year so far for Antonym as the company recently joined the Sephora lineup this fall, as reported in Happi.
