Benefit Cosmetics has issued a large recall of 55 products, including its popular Gimme Brow products as batches tested positive for Pseudomona aeruginosa, according to the FDA.
The company’s website provided the following statement to customers about the recall products:
“Benefit Cosmetics is committed to the highest levels of quality and doing what’s right for our customers. Out of an abundance of caution, we are initiating a voluntary recall of our Gimme Brow product after discovering that recent batches of the product did not meet our stringent quality standards. If applied in its normal usage on the brows, the Gimme Brow product doesn’t involve any risk. However, if it comes into contact with the eyes, it could lead to eye irritation.”
Benefit told customers that it recommended that they stop using the product, and that they should return the product to its original place of purchase for a full refund.
In addition to several Gimme Brow products listed, the recall also included eyebrow products that were included in kits and sets that were sold by various retailers.
