Seventh Generation has rolled out EasyDose Ultra Concentrated Laundry Detergenton Amazon, which takes the typical 100oz laundry jug and condenses it to a 23oz bottle that uses 50% less water, 60% less plastic and is 75% lighter. It features a new automatic dosing mechanism built right into the flip cap, which means no pouring of detergent into the cap or guessing how much to use. It automatically doses the right amount with one squeeze, reducing waste and unnecessary spilling.
EasyDose costs the same as Seventh Generation’s industry-standard 100 oz jug at just $12.99, according to the company.
The EasyDose bottle illustrates that there is at least 5 pounds of unnecessary material and water in every 100 oz bottle of laundry detergent. In 2018, there were almost 90 million 100 oz bottles of laundry detergent sold in the US with 60-66 loads of laundry in each. There are at least 5 extra pounds in each of those bottles, which equates to more than 440MM pounds of unnecessary resources and cost in the system from just this product line, according to Seventh Generation.
