Ulta Beauty, Inc. posted financial results for the third quarter and first nine months ended Nov. 3, 2018. Its strong performance in the third quarter reflects continued market share gains across all major categories, acceleration in our overall comp driven by healthy traffic, excellent new store productivity and robust e-commerce growth, according to Chief Executive Officer Mary Dillon.
Net sales increased 16.2% to $1.6 billion in the third quarter. Salon sales jumped 10.7% to $74.0 million. Operating income rose 4.0% to $169.2 million.
For the first nine months, net sales increased 16.3% to $4.6 billion. Retail comparable sales increased 4.3%, including salon comparable sales growth of 2.8%; E-commerce sales rose 42.9% to $457.9 million. Salon sales increased 9.8% to $223.7 million. Operating income climbed 7.9% to $572.9 million.
The company is maintaining its previously announced fiscal 2018 guidance, an increase of total sales in the low teens percentage range and achieve comparable sales growth of approximately 7% to 8%.
