Shiseido Americas Corporation created a new leadership role for the US market. Melissa Sperau, currently SVP, Americas at NARS Cosmetics, will be promoted to President, U.S., effective Jan. 15, 2019. She will report to Marc Rey, President & CEO, Shiseido Americas and Chief Growth Officer, Shiseido Group.
This role was created as part of Shiseido Americas’ broader effort to ensure the company is organized to successfully drive and execute local sales and marketing activities in the US while effectively executing its global leadership responsibilities within Shiseido group. In her new role, Sperau will be responsible for the US sales and marketing functions for a variety of Shiseidos. Overseeing the US commercial operations of each of these brands, Sperau will help strengthen the company’s sales and marketing strategies within the market, fully exercise the power of Shiseido’s portfolio of brands with the company’s retail partners and realize the unique competitive advantages in the US market.
As president, US, Sperau will leverage the global power of the Company’s “One Shiseido” model to develop and execute new commercial and marketing strategies to enhance Shiseido’s consumer base, retail partnerships and brand engagement in the US.
