The 12th edition of Personal Care and Homecare Ingredients (PCHi) was a resounding success, according to show organizers. The trade show welcomed 25,637 attendees from 80 countries and 634 exhibitors from 27 countries. Exhibitors showcased more than 3,000 products, and numerous manufacturers introduced new products to the world in Guangzhou. Attendees also had the opportunity to hear from 110 top industry experts across the various conference tracks at the PCHi Annual Industry Conference and New Technology Sessions.
“While the show has always enjoyed steady growth since its inception, this year’s event surpassed past editions not just in attendance, but also in terms of the level of content — whether it be exhibits on show floor or insights from conference sessions," said Peter LIU, PCHi project manager, Reed Sinopharm Exhibitions. "There was a heightened sense of strength and vitality at the event this year that suggested the crossing of yet another threshold, and I think it signals a new chapter for PCHi.”
According to Euromonitor International, the global beauty and personal care industry made steady gains and registered a market retail value of $491 billion in 2018, and is expected to hit $616 billion by 2022 with a 6% CAGR forecast. The Asia Pacific region dominated the market at $159 billion (or 32% contribution to global value size), surpassing both North America and Western Europe regions. No surprise then that cosmetics manufacturers and ingredient suppliers are paying closer attention to the needs and demands of consumers here. PCHi organizers maintain that their event provides brand owners and formulators with the platform to uncover the most relevant and creative product concepts to address them.
The PCHi conference program included presentations by experts from around the world. There was a wide range of topics to select from — including trend-driven innovations, rules and regulations, efficacy evaluation, dermo-cosmetics, market trends, formulation, and traditional Chinese medicine — all of which enabled attendees to gain new perspectives for their next product development cycle.
The 13th edition of PCHi will be held Feb. 26-28, 2020 at the Shanghai World EXPO Exhibition and Convention Center (SWEECC) in China. More info: www.pchi-china.com/en
