A retail version of ring and run is done, as Amazon announced the end of its Dash smart device program. The online behemouth will stop supporting Dash Button devices on August 31. Instead, users can opt for the virtual Dash button on Amazon.com and the Amazon mobile app.
Dash debuted in 2015, making it easy for consumers to reorder household goods, such as Tide laundry detergent, Lysol cleaner and Clorox bleach. But with the debut of digital voice assistants like Amazon Echo and other apps, Dash ran out of room in the crowded reordering business.
