California Baby, a manufacturer of premium plant-based and organic skincare for babies, kids and sensitive adults, has launched its products in 100% post-consumer recycled plastic packaging. The new packaging aligns with the company’s mission to create safe, pure and high-quality products for consumers and reduce its environmental impact.
Post-consumer recycled plastic packaging is clean, repurposed material that is deemed equivalent in terms of standards to conventional High-Density Polyethylene (HDPE) plastic often used in packaging applications for consumer goods. California Baby’s transition to 100% recycled plastic packaging for product in stores and online will be complete by October 2019.
“At California Baby, we are constantly innovating and developing strategies to increase sustainability efforts, from our organic Santa Barbara farm to our solar panel-powered manufacturing facility,” said Jessica Iclisoy, CEO and founder of California Baby. “With transparency and responsibility at the core of our DNA, our new packaging is another example of our dedication to ensuring our product is pure and safe for our consumers and our planet. We strive to create real change and set the precedent for sustainability in the beauty and cosmetics industry.”
Studies show that recycled plastic uses less energy than new virgin plastic resin and has a lower impact on the environment. Recycling plastic helps to conserve energy, conserve natural resources, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, save space in landfills and preserve the environment.
