Hallstar Beauty has broken ground on a new North America headquarters in Darien, IL, a suburb of Chicago. All North American product development, production, quality management, supply chain and customer service teams will be housed in the new 50,000+ square foot facility, which is expected to open in the first quarter of 2020.
Hallstar Beauty is a division of global specialty chemical manufacturer Hallstar.
“For years, Hallstar Beauty has envisioned bringing all of its operations under one roof, and we are excited that our business has grown sufficiently to make this vision a reality,” said Robert Hu, president and CTO. “Our people and inventory have historically been in numerous locations around the United States. Consolidating these teams in Darien will be a significant, positive shift for us, providing new product development synergy and streamlined customer service.”
Hallstar Beauty selected the city of Darien, with its proximity to multiple key interstate highways, as well as both major Chicago airports, as the ideal site for their new building. The headquarters will be close to Hallstar’s global corporate headquarters in downtown Chicago and to its long-standing operation in Bedford Park, IL, which will now be the dedicated product development and warehousing site for Hallstar’s industrial division.
“With the design and build-out of the new Hallstar Beauty NA headquarters, we have a chance to create a beautiful showcase for our product innovation, where customers can visit our laboratories, tour our production and warehousing facilities, and meet with Beauty senior leadership,” noted John Paro, Hallstar CEO and Chairman. “As soon as they enter the building, customers will recognize who we are and what we do: an innovator in the field of cosmetic chemistry that develops award-winning active naturals, functional naturals, and photostabilization technology, as well as advanced formulated solutions for the world’s leading beauty brands.”
Hallstar Beauty will be working closely with its existing customers and distributors in the coming months to ensure all aspects of its supply chain and customer experience are smoothly transitioned, according to the company. “The new warehouse will be operational before the full headquarters launch, so we will give ourselves and our partners a headstart,” Hu points out. “Our goal is a seamless changeover for both our external and internal constituents.”
