    In partnership with Walgreens, Birchbox is adding on to its footprint to 500 Walgreens retail locations across the country just in time for the holiday shopping season. Beginning Nov. 8 and through the end of December, Birchbox’s special holiday fixtures will appear in select Walgreens locations in 44 states (including Alaska).


    The Birchbox fixtures will be positioned at the front of the store and feature grab-and-go holiday gifts along with a selection of Birchbox's best-selling beauty essentials. The product assortment will include Birchbox subscription gift cards, an exclusive Advent Calendar (a Birchbox and Walgreens collaboration), travel-size beauty essentials in under-$10 and under-$20 categories, and a travel-themed limited-edition box for Birchbox Beauty and Birchbox Grooming. 

    In August of this year, Birchbox trained Walgreens Beauty Consultants in 3,000 stores to sell Birchbox subscriptions from their tablets. As a result, Birchbox has been averaging 15x more subscribers per month acquired through Walgreens, said the company. In October, Birchbox made subscription gift cards available in all 8,000 Walgreens stores in the country. 
     
    This is the latest development in the year-old partnership between Birchbox and Walgreens, which launched in December 2018. Beginning with six pilot locations and having grown to 11 locations this year, the “store-within-a-store” retail spaces range from 400 to 1,000 square feet and resemble mini-Birchbox stores. Current locations include in and around San Francisco, Los Angeles, New York City, Chicago, and Ann Arbor, Michigan.
