The Takasago Group officially opened its first flavors and fragrances factory in Indonesia. This $25 million capital investment is Takasago’s biggest investment in the country, which has the fourth largest population in the world. Indonesia was chosen as the location due to its stable economy, excellent geographical location, skilled workforces and good infrastructures, along with the fact that Indonesia is one of the most promising markets in South East Asia. Established nearly 100 years ago, The Takasago Group maintains offices, production sites, and R&D centers in 27 countries and regions; and this year marks an expansion in the Asian region.
The Indonesian facility is built on nearly 16,000 square meters of land and has become Takasago’s 12th plant for flavors and fragrances production worldwide. This factory will serve the South East Asia market with up to 14,500 metric tons of capacity a year and this is considered to be one of the most modern flavors and fragrances plants in Indonesia that will boost Takasago’s competitive edge in the industry. The company is committed to a sustainable practice and will provide job opportunities for the local community.
The company believes that the opening of the PT Takasago International Indonesia factory gives Takasago a big advantage in the Asian marketplace especially for Indonesia. By having this state-of-the-art factory, Takasago will be able to provide better services to their clients in terms of lead time, and to support the fast growing FMCG market in Indonesia.
