Melanie Edwards, a veteran in the luxury spa and professional skin care industry, has joined Priori Skincare as director of global education.
Edwards will be responsible for the education of Priori’s 20 international distributors and the implementation of training in new markets. In addition, she will support the training needs for the brand’s skincare clients and develop new innovative tools that elevate consumer’s skincare education.
Experience
Before joining Priori, Edwards was the principal consultant for her firm Melanie Edwards Spa Consulting. In this role Edwards brought her expertise to leading spa properties and skin care companies to guide them on brand development, education and training, treatment and touch point creation and operational support for the pre-opening of new spa locations.
Edwards has held leading positions for many international companies including Puig, where she served as senior vice president of their spa division. While there, Edwards was responsible for developing the Prada Beauty spa concept, which launched exclusively at the Ritz-Carlton hotels. She also served as vice president of spa development and education and training for Decléor and Carita Paris, and was a member of the executive committee that developed their new North America business and marketing strategy.
Prior to that, Edwards served as National Director of Spa for Equinox Fitness, where she oversaw the operations of 44 spa locations and the opening of three new ones. Edwards developed and executed a new organizational structure for the spa program and worked closely with the architectural division of Eclipse on a project to blend the culture of spa and fitness as a cohesive unit in the design of all new spas.
“I am thrilled to join the Priori team and to have the opportunity to add my efforts to educating spa and industry professionals all over the world on their innovative adaptive skincare products,” said Edwards. “The growth potential for Priori is unlimited as spas and retailers discover and embrace the more personalized approach to skincare treatment that their skincare technology provides.”
Edwards is a long-standing member of ISPA and served as a past Board Member as well as participating in numerous committees and task forces.
Also, Edwards is active in her community, where she volunteers time to support her local humane society; works with the Agape House of Prescott, an organization that aids homeless mothers and their children; and is involved with the Women’s Ministry at Calvary Chapel of Prescott.
