The coronavirus has caused a nationwide hand sanitizer shortage and EO Products is taking measures to meet increased demand. Over the past couple of weeks, the company’s production of hand sanitizer has quadrupled, the brand is running extra shifts, speeding up production lines, hiring temporary workers and converting factory lines designed for other products to meet hand sanitizer needs as its top priority.
Over just a one-week period in mid-February, EO Products saw sanitizer orders increase 1,300% for the Everyone brand on its website alone (not including their nationwide retailer presence). Since then, the company has continued to see a demand for sanitizers and hand soap increase daily, along with the order frequency and volume from its retail partners.
As a privately-held company, EO products has remained nimble in meeting unforeseen demand needs due to it being a private manufacturer. Luckily, the company does not find itself blocked or delayed by long contract manufacturing lead-times like some of its larger counterparts are facing. To that end, the brand has been able to respond in real-time without compromising on the quality of its products and ingredients.
Tom Feegel, president of EO Products commented, "Raising prices at this time would not be in alignment with our core values. All the business rules about profitability are off the table.”
The company’s goal is to continue to help as many people as possible stay healthy and safe during these times while making sure its employees and their families stay safe as well.
Taking Action During a Crisis
As part of that commitment, EO Products just announced today that it has partnered with the City of San Francisco to supply them with products to assist in their efforts addressing the COVID-19 outbreak. The products that EO Products will be supplying will be specifically used to help keep hands clean and safe during this uncertain time.
To support this partnership, the company will continue operations as usual after securing an exemption order, as the state of California received a mandatory, stay-at-home order from Governor Newsom late last week.
