With consumers spending more time at home these days due to COVID-19, the American Cleaning Institute (ACI) launched its new Safe and Clean at Home initiative, featuring daily cleaning challenges, tips and ideas to help everyone clean smart.
You can find the daily #SafeAndCleanAtHome posts on ACI’s Facebook, Instagram and Twitter feeds.
These challenges are designed to provide individuals and families with relevant, empowering and fun ways to make the most of our time at home while caring for their safety and well-being.
According to ACI’s latest National Cleaning Survey, 78% of Americans spring clean annually. As many of us are working from home due to COVID-19 crisis, we expect even more people to be cleaning this year. At the same time, households are more isolated than before as they practice social distancing to “flatten the curve.”
The #SafeAndCleanAtHome initiative helps break cleaning and organizing efforts into manageable pieces, convey important cleaning tips and safety information and connect families through fun shared projects, according to ACI.
“Through daily inspiring invitations and challenges, we can keep cleaning tasks from piling up and improve our living spaces, focusing on what we can control as a way to de-stress during these uncertain times,” said ACI President & CEO Melissa Hockstad. “We will get through this and emerge with improved cleaning habits at home and a stronger community online.”
The messages will include common sense reminders about home safety, such as making sure cleaning products are stored out of sight and reach of young children and to read the product label directions to maximize the effectiveness of the cleaning product.
