Erno Laszlo is reformulating its collection where needed, to make its products cleaner for consumers and for the environment. The brand has developed a strict set of clean standards and has been working over the last few years to identify 51 potentially harmful ingredients and eliminating them from any existing or new formulas.
“As part of this process, we’re eliminating these ingredients from our formulas and updating our packaging so that everything meets our high clean, safe and sustainable standards. We drew up our first list of non-permissible ingredients back in 2009 and, over the years, we have been deleting various chemicals and preservative systems where they have been deemed to be potentially harmful. Every product in the line – new launches as well as reformulated favorites – will meet these new standards and be completely clean. We know we’re not the first to make a commitment to embark on this journey, and hopefully we’re not the last,” said Charles Denton, CEO of Erno Laszlo.
In the spirit of full transparency, the brand is highlighting the ingredients that are not banned and why they are continuing to use them in their products. You can find the full list here.
To help the brand as they embark on this new chapter, Erno Lazlo is committing to the New Plastics Economy and partnering with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, an organization on a mission to accelerate the transition to a circular economy. This will ensure that all of Erno Laszlo’s packaging and practices are sustainable by 2025 if not before.
