Olika, a design-centric personal care company reported in Happi, recently reported a record-breaking sales month as the brand saw a 420% increase in quarterly Q1 sales year over year. Olika also doubled its team in March by onboarding several new executives and essential team members.
Alastair Dorward, Olika’s CEO, acknowledged the record-breaking sales and rapid growth as a direct response to the coronavirus pandemic.
“Consumers are understandably focused on family and community health right now,” he commented. “In March, we sold more hand sanitizer in four days than we did in all of 2019. The juxtaposition of a rapidly-growing company in unprecedented economic conditions is not lost on us. We’re humbled to expand and remain committed to helping consumers stay healthy and most importantly, staying kind and compassionate in uncertain times.”
Olika also expanded its leadership team with the hiring of Janelle Hailey as the vice president, marketing and product innovation. Hailey brings more than 10 years of deep marketing and beauty experience to her new role, including significant work with Johnson & Johnson brands such as Aveeno, BabyCenter, Neutrogena and Clean & Clear.
Additionally, Olika recruited Tim Cleary and Paul Miller in sales leadership roles and Jason Bowman as head of supply chain.
