The International Fragrance Association (IFRA) welcomed two new members of its Board of Directors at its online meeting on June 5.
Julia Raquet replaced Thomas Schröder as the representative from BASF, also taking on Schröder’s previous role as IFRA's Treasurer.
Raquet became senior vice-president for BASF's Global Business Unit Animal Nutrition and Aroma Ingredients on June 1, 2020. She previously led the global sales & business management of BASF's Aroma Ingredients business. She has broad experience from senior roles in the company's portfolio of businesses.
Raquet commented, "It is crucial that the global fragrance industry is represented by a body that promotes the joy and emotion of fragrance while at the same time providing science-based Standards for responsible and sustainable use. I am honored and excited to join the IFRA Board and to actively pursue IFRA's vision of fragrance as a safe and essential part of life.”
Ilaria Resta became Firmenich's representative on the IFRA Board, replacing long-standing IFRA Board member Armand de Villoutreys.
Resta was named president, global perfumery at Firmenich in March 2020, and also joined the company's Executive Committee.
She brings more than two decades of experience in the consumer goods sector, having worked at Procter & Gamble since 1997 building brands such as Tide, Ariel, Fairy, Swiffer, Duracell, Pantene, Head & Shoulders, Herbal Essences and Aussie across Europe, the Middle East, China and North America.
"I look forward to bringing to IFRA experience from the client side, a passion to serve consumer needs, and love for perfume,” Resta said.
Both women join the renewed IFRA Board, which took office earlier in 2020 under the chairmanship of Hans-Holger Gliewe.
