The Estée Lauder Companies has formed a third brand cluster—an evolution in enterprise structure that reflects The Estée Lauder Companies (ELC)’s commitment to strengthening brand leadership, and leverages the talents and track records of leaders across the organization.
New Brand Cluster Leadership
Fistly, Jane Hertzmark Hudis has been promoted to executive group president. Throughout her career, she has made an impact driving brand-building expertise, spearheading the elevation of marketing and talent, and leading her portfolio of brands to achieve broad-based growth across categories, regions and channels, says ELC. As executive group president, her portfolio of brands will include Estée Lauder, La Mer, Bobbi Brown, Aerin, Origins, Aveda, Bumble and bumble, Dr. Jart+ and Do The Right Thing. She will continue to report directly to Fabrizio Freda, president and CEO, The Estée Lauder Companies.
“This well-deserved promotion recognizes Jane’s exceptional leadership across the company,” commented Freda. “Throughout her career, she has made a significant impact driving brand-building expertise, spearheading the elevation of marketing and talent, and leading her portfolio of brands to achieve outstanding broad-based growth across categories, regions and channels.”
John Demsey, executive group president, will continue to oversee M·A·C, Clinique, BECCA, Too Faced, Smashbox, Glamglow and Tom Ford Beauty, and will be a key advisor to the new brand integration capability. He will also continue to lead ELC’s enterprise-wide Creative Organization, and will continue to report directly to Fabrizio Freda.
Lastly, Stéphane de La Faverie has been promoted to group president, The Estée Lauder Companies, while continuing in his role as global brand president, Estée Lauder and Aerin. According to ELC, this promotion reflects Stéphane’s track record of building and leading global brands, his expertise across categories and channels, and understanding of local relevance. As group president, Stéphane’s new portfolio of brands will include Jo Malone London, Aramis and Designer Fragrances, Le Labo, Darphin, Lab Series, By Kilian, Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle, Rodin olio lusso and Prescriptives. He will report directly to Fabrizio Freda in his role as group president, and will continue to report to Jane Hertzmark Hudis for his global brand president responsibilities for Estée Lauder and Aerin.
“This exciting evolution of our leadership and organizational structure reflects our ‘run to win today, transform to lead tomorrow’ approach,” said Freda. “It further aligns our portfolio of brands to continue to lead in an increasingly competitive beauty landscape, and ensures that we are matching the expertise, capabilities and experiences of our exceptional leaders with the biggest opportunities and engines to deliver long-term, sustainable growth.”
