As of July 2 , 2020, Cosun Biobased Products has changed its company name to Cosun Beet Company – Biobased Experts.
The strategy of Cosun Beet Company goes beyond sugar and is based on the ambition to be the “greenest, most innovative and most successful sugar beet processor.” Its key focus is sustainability, innovation, and an awareness of the world around us.
“In the last 10-15 years we have successfully developed and commercialized various innovative functional ingredients based on the side streams and crops within Royal Cosun. But we haven't achieved this alone,” stated the company. “We collaborate closely with industry, scientists, distributors and, above all, our customers. We aim to continue this unique development process into the future.”
Cosun Beet Company was founded by a group of Dutch arable farmers who joined forces in 1899 to secure a fair value from their crop: the sugar beet. Today in 2020, Cosun Beet Company develops a range of solutions from the whole sugar beet (roots and leaves) and is testing the limits of the circular economy. Both the parent company and the daughter are owned by a cooperative of 9,000 members/sugar beet growers.
