BASF Personal Care Solutions has received the “Effective Ingredient” award for its latest innovation, BioToLife.
Employing an innovative Japanese technology backed by academic studies, BASF uses a unique glycolipid as its active ingredient in BioToLife, originally fermented by a special strain of Starmerellabombicola yeast, derived from vegetable oil and sugar. This unique fermented extract curbs the overgrowth of microbials by uprooting the biofilm they form on surfaces and restores an environment which supports the formation of a balanced micro-ecosystem.
With BioToLife, BASF has applied the same mechanism that took millions of years in natural evolution, to cosmetics and rinse-off products. BASF says its ultimate goal in developing BioToLife is to retrieve the optimal balance for our wellness – now, and in the future. From the wellness of our skin, hair and scalp, to our oral health, overall beauty and well-being – both inside and out.
The award was given by Ringer Technology and sponsored by Happi.
