If the masses won't come to the spa, the spa will come to the masses. Beginning October 1, Clarins will offer subscription boxes in France, with plans to roll the concept across the Continent. The move comes as Europe slowly emerges from the coronavirus pandemic which shut down the region for much of the second quarter of 2020.
Members will receive boxes every two months. The Box Curieuse (or Curious Box), priced at 19.90 euros ($22.28), includes four travel-size products (up to 50ml) of face and body care formulas, but not antiaging items. Other box variants range in price from 39.90 to 69.90. Each includes instructions on a DIY activity, an advice card, a written pointer about self-care and a surprise.
Clarins executives told Women's Wear Daily that they planned to roll out the subscription service prior to the pandemic, but plans were pushed back to the third quarter.
