The world’s largest specialty beauty retailer, Sephora, is partnering with Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) to remove a variety of chemicals from its products.
According to EDF, the move comes as Gen Z and Millennial shoppers are demanding “cleaner” beauty products.
"Sephora is changing the status quo by helping to eliminate harmful chemicals from its products and replace them with verified safer alternatives to protect the health of its customers," according to EDF.
According to EDF, consumers are increasingly concerned about what is inside the products they use and how the ingredients could harm their well-being. As a result, more shoppers seek out and support brands that are transparent about their ingredients.
