The Society of Cosmetic Chemists Annual Scientific Meeting & Showcase will be a virtual event, December 7-11, 2020. Registration is open and the Society is also seeking nominees for awards and scholarships.
• The SCC Madam C.J. Walker Scholarship.The scholarship program rules and application form are now available. Generously sponsored by Mary Kay, the scholarship signifies SCC’s commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion through supporting under-represented minorities pursuing higher education in STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) in disciplines related to the cosmetics and personal care industry. Two scholarships, in the amount of $5,000 each (sponsored by Mary Kay), will be awarded to two under-represented minorities (Black/African American, Native/American Indian, and Latinx/Hispanic American) pursuing an undergraduate or post-graduate degree in chemical, physical, medical, pharmaceutical, biological or related sciences and technology. • The Florence Wall Women in Cosmetic Chemistry Award. Sponsored by Rodan + Fields, the Society is now accepting applications for the Florence Wall Women in Cosmetic Chemistry Award that recognizes a woman for her significant accomplishments to the cosmetic industry through technical contributions, leadership skills and business excellence. • Green Star Award. Only a few short weeks remain to submit your formulation for consideration of the Green Star Award, sponsored by Colonial Chemical. All submissions must be received by Wednesday, September 30, 2020. For more information, click here.
