A rose by any other name would smell as sweet, but it would not necessarily be organic. No surprise then, that Lancôme is protecting its supply chain by acquiring a four-acre organic farm in Grasse. The move will enable Lancôme to track its fragrances from farm to shelf.
The 500 year-old farm, dubbed Domaine de la Rose by Lancôme, gives the L'Oréal brand an opportunity pursue Ecocert approvals for its new formulas, according to the company. Grasse, of course, is known as the heart of the perfume industry, where fields of lavender and rose abound.
