Coty is fighting battles on several fronts, so it makes sense for the company to call in reinforcements. The cosmetics maker has hired a chief commercial officer for its luxury unit, and a chief digital officer. However, at the same time, Edgar Huber, Coty’s chief commercial officer, will step down. But to ensure a smooth transition, he will work with Isabelle Bonfanti, who is joining Coty as chief commercial officer, luxury. Bonfanti had been with L'Oréal, where she worked in the luxury division for 17 years.
In another move, Jean-Denis Mariani, the former chief digital officer at LVMH-owned Guerlain, will join Coty as chief digital officer. He will start on November 1. At Guerlain, Mariani oversaw the digitization of Guerlain, which included accelerated global e-commerce efforts and digital marketing.
Coty has been in the news in recent weeks regarding a shareholder lawsuit which charges the company paid too much for several Procter & Gamble brands, as well as Kylie Cosmetics.
