The pandemic has turned the 74th Annual Meeting of the Society of Cosmetic Chemists into a virtual event. Although the annual year-end bonhomie may be missing, there will be no lack of good science during SCC Week, Dec. 7-11, 2020. The meeting gets underway at 11am on December 7, with a welcome address by SCC President Mindy Goldstein, followed immediately by the annual Frontiers of Science Lecture delivered by Scott A. Jackson, PhD, Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) who will discuss, "Standards of Microbiome Measurements: Supporting the Translation of Innovative Applicaitons of the Human Microbiome."
SCC Week will include presentations on formulation, sustainability, regulatory, safety and/or claims specific to the following topics: Beauty Personalization & Technology; Color & Optical Effects; Cosmetic Dermatology: Skin Microbiome & Epigenetics; Hair Care Innovation & Market Trends; Natural/Sustainable in Cosmetics & Personal Care; Personal Care/Cosmetics Impact & the COVID-19 Pandemic; Sun Care & Beyond; and Technologies & Trends In Ingredients.
The Henry Maso Keynote Award Lecture will be delivered by Tom Szaky, founder and CEO of TerraCycle, who will explain "Recycling and Reuse Before, During and After COVID-19."
