Just in time for Valentine's Day, Unilever’s purposeful beauty brand Love Beauty and Planet partnered with female-founded online floral retailer East Olivia for a special gift. The brands have reimagined the traditional Valentine’s Day ‘card & flowers’ to be a bit more cleaner and greener. Introducing the limited-edition Love Beauty and Planet x East Olivia ‘Plant Your Love’ Kit, featuring a personalized note printed on plantable seed paper that lets your love grow while giving love back to the planet.
According to Hallmark, an estimated 145 million Valentine’s Day cards are exchanged each year (add in boxes of chocolates, etc.) and while these are all beautiful expressions of love, they are temporary. More so, they often end up in a landfill. The 'Plant Your Love Kit' ($45; click here) will include everything your card needs to bloom (flowerpot, gardening gloves, soil), plus a Love Beauty and Planet Hand Cream to treat your skin after a job well done. The kit contents & packaging was carefully chosen with the planet in mind, including recyclable and biodegradable materials.
As a continuation of its love for the planet, for every kit produced, Love Beauty and Plant is donating the cost of a kit ($45; limited quantities available) to Urban Growers Collective, a Black and women-led non-profit addressing inequities in the food system and communities of color in Chicago. Because to us, a more beautiful planet starts with one that’s greener and more just. This novel brand has reimagined wrapping paper in the past, as reported in Happi.
