Alexandra Trower, executive vice president of global communications, Estée Lauder Cos. will retire on July 1. A successor has not been named. Trower joined the company in 2008, shortly after Fabrizio Freda was appointed chief executive officer. During her career, Trower is credited with building a top communications team that is involved in acquisition due diligence to product development and marketing. As EVP-communications, Trower oversees corporate, social, crisis, philanthropic and Lauder family communications. She serves on the Executive Leadership Team, is an executive officer of the company and reports directly to William P. Lauder, executive chairman. She is also a founding executive sponsor of the company’s LGBTQA employee resource group. She is a member of the Board of The Estée Lauder Companies Charitable Foundation and the Secular Society, both of which are committed to supporting girls and women with a particular focus on education. In 2018, Trower was recognized by New York Women in Communications with a prestigious Matrix Award.
In retirement, Trower said she will spend more time with her family and continue as board chair of Hollins University, her alma mater.
