Natura & Co. has invested in Perfumer H, the fragrance brand from former Robertet perfumer Lynn Harris. The deal was mad through Fable Investments, Natura's new VC fund, which is led by Aesop executives.
Harris' company, Perfumer H, specializes in natural ingredients and refillable packaging—two trends that appeal to Fable Investments and Natura, which makes sustainability a keystone of its business plan, along with climate change, product circularity and human rights.
Natura & Co. is the latest beauty company to establish a venture capital investment arm. Unilever has had one for years, investing in brands including Beauty Bakerie and Frank Body, and both the Estée Lauder Cos. and Procter & Gamble also do venture-level investing.
The Perfumer H is led by Fable director Thomas Buisson and Aesop chief executive officer Michael O’Keeffe. Buisson is the former general manager of Aesop in Europe, and O’Keeffe is Aesop’s CEO. The Fable Investments team also includes Paola Felipak, principal; Sophia Sun, analyst and Roger Schmid, adviser.
