Today, June 10, 2021, is Judy Garland's 99th birthday anniversary. Her daughters Lorna Luft and Liza Minnelli kickoff the year leading up to her 100th birthday with a big fine fragrance reveal.
Vincenzo (Vince) Spinnato, Cosmetic Chemist, Happi podcast guest,“Certified Nose” and President/CEO of TurnKey Beauty, Inc., based in Capistrano Beach, CA, has been chosen by The Judy Garland Heirs Trust to develop a fine fragrance in honor of the late legendary actress, recording artist, and entertainer Judy Garland. The unisex fragrance, to be called ‘Judy – A Garland Fragrance by Vincenzo Spinnato’, will be released June 10, 2022, the 100th anniversary of Garland’s birth.
Luft and Minnelli will work in conjunction with Spinnato to develop ‘Judy’, which will be reminiscent of some of their mother’s favorite scents, aromas and perfumes, with a modern twist.
TurnKey Beauty plans to involve America in determining the final fragrance by having fans vote for their favorite scent.” Fans will be able to vote by scanning a QR Code or text, selecting one of three fragrance strips that will be placed in prestigious magazines and in brick-and-mortar stores where the fragrance will eventually live.
The development process to create a fragrance or product line usually takes 18 months from inception to launch; however, because of Ms. Garland’s 100th birthday tie-in, TurnKey Beauty will escalate the product development, which will be documented over the next 12 months on social media and a website designated for the ‘Judy’ fragrance - https://JudyGarlandFragrance.com.
